Hans is the Senior Chaplain at Melbourne Grammar School. He is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church, a Spiritual Director and a trained Supervisor of Spiritual Direction students and a Secondary Teacher of Philosophy and Religious Studies.

Hans is an oblate in the Camaldolese Benedictine Order. He is the co-founder and former President of the Mornington Peninsula Interfaith Network. Hans has a keen interest in education, public speaking, writing, World Religions, contemplative spirituality, First Nations People and culture, interfaith dialogue and social and environmental justice.

Before working at Melbourne Grammar School, Hans was the founding Chaplain and Religious Education Coordinator at Balcombe Grammar School. He has served as Board member of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim Association and has been a member of the Anglican Diocese’s Social Responsibilities Committee. Hans regularly leads interfaith dialogues, retreats and meditation days.

Hans is originally from Denmark. He is married to Ruth and they have two sons, one of whom now lives in Denmark. When he is not working, Hans is often found in the wonderful wilds of nature blissfully riding his gravel bike while contemplating the beauty of the natural world.
